1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Add sweet potatoes to large bowl, and mash.
3. Stir in sugar, ½ cup melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until smooth.
4. Spoon sweet potato mixture into large glass or ceramic baking dish. Spread evenly.
5. In small bowl, mix together 1/3 cup melted butter, brown sugar, and all-purpose flour.
6. Stir in pecan halves.
7. Spread pecan topping over sweet potatoes.
8. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
