1. Preheat oven to 450 F.
2. Pierce the sweet potatoes with fork in several places.
3. Place sweet potatoes on oven rack.
4. Bake 45 minutes and remove from oven.
5. Halve potatoes lengthwise.
6. Scoop potato flesh from skins and place in serving bowl.
7. Mash potato flesh. Stir in applesauce and salt.
8. Top with crushed apple chips.
